Washington's Perennial Policy Towards Iran: Hector, Belittle, Bully, Repeat

iran-us-israel-attack-2025-400x225

Nothing one reads about Iran in the western media can be trusted. It is all poisoned with the same, vile anti-Iran hatred and bias.

Since the 1979 Revolution to today, US policy towards Iran has been an unbroken chain of relentless hectoring, belligerence and demonization. Washington has never treated Iran with the respect it deserves nor will it in the future. That’s because—on a fundamental level—the entire US political class despises Iran for asserting sovereign control over their-own vast resources and for failing to kowtow to their mucky-muck overlords in Washington. That’s the real issue; Iran has refused to cave in to Uncle Sam’s diktats which is why it must be punished with economic strangulation, “maximum pressure” and, inevitably, war. That is how America treats the peasants in the provinces, with an iron fist.

Test Your Political IQ; See if you can connect the dots:

Total Pro-Israel Contributions to Trump’s 2024 Presidential Campaign:

…. pro-Israel interest groups and individuals contributed over $230 million to efforts benefiting Trump since 2020, with the bulk tied to the 2024 cycle. This figure includes direct campaign contributions, independent expenditures, and super PAC spending, though exact breakdowns for 2024 alone are less precise….

Pro-Israel donors, primarily Miriam Adelson through her Preserve America PAC, contributed an estimated $106–150 million to Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, with Adelson’s $106 million being the most verifiable figure. Question—What is Miriam Adelson’s position on US intervention in Iran?

Miriam Adelson’s position on U.S. intervention in Iran is not explicitly detailed in her own public statements, but her actions, affiliations, and the legacy of her late husband, Sheldon Adelson, strongly suggest she supports a hawkish stance, including potential military action to counter Iran’s nuclear program and regional influence.

Sheldon Adelson, who died in 2021, was outspoken about U.S. intervention in Iran, famously advocating in 2013 for a nuclear strike on an Iranian desert as a “demonstration” to force Iran to abandon its nuclear program, followed by a threat to nuke Tehran if it didn’t comply. He stated at a Yeshiva University panel, “You pick up your cell phone and you call somewhere in Nebraska and you say, ‘OK let it go’… Then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran.’”…

Miriam funds organizations advocating strong measures against Iran, such as:

United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI): Received $500,000 from the Adelson Family Foundation in 2013 and opposes diplomacy with Iran, favoring sanctions and military pressure.

Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD): Received $1.5 million from the Adelsons and pushes for preemptive strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, per The Nation (2015).

Miriam Adelson’s position on U.S. intervention in Iran, inferred from her political donations, affiliations, and media influence, is likely hawkish, favoring strong measures—potentially including military action—to counter Iran’s nuclear program and regional role, in alignment with Israel’s security priorities. While she has not publicly advocated for specific interventions like her late husband’s nuclear strike proposal, her $100 million+ support for Trump, funding of anti-Iran groups, and role in Israel Hayom suggest she endorses a confrontational U.S. approach. Steve Witkoff and Miriam Adelson embrace at last (Wed) night’s United Hatzalah of Israel gala, at which Witkoff declared a “nuclear Iran” an existential threat and repeated his “no enrichment” ultimatum. Witkoff is supposed to be leading the next (final?) round negotiations on Sunday Michael Tracey, X

Quid pro quo (definition)—“something given or received for something else.” In practical terms this could mean ‘I donate $100 million to your presidential campaign, and you move the Capital of Israel to Jerusalem or allow Israel to annex the Golan Heights or provide the resources for toppling the government in Syria or provide an endless supply of bombs and weapons for killing Palestine’s native population. Or it could refer to something else entirely, something even more ambitious, like air strikes on Iran that could trigger a Third World War and the banishment of the US from the Middle East for good. Of course, what this implies is that the billionaire donors who contributed to the Trump campaign did so “with strings attached” which means they expect something in return. In this case, they expect Trump to lead the United States into a war with Iran because that will improve Israel’s chances of emerging as the regional hegemon, the most powerful country in the Middle East.

Is that the bargain that “horse-trader” Trump made to win the presidential election in 2024 (and to make his legal problems vanish overnight)?

We think it is. In fact, we never thought for a minute that Trump’s nuclear talks with Iran were a sincere effort to resolve the main issues peacefully. From the very beginning, it was clear that the negotiations were a sham aimed at creating a pretext for launching a war. Now we can see that assessment was right.

Take a look at this one-minute video of Trump (during the 2015 campaign) blasting Bush’s intervention in Iraq. Trump famously said: “The Iraq war was a big, fat mistake” which sent his public approval rating skyrocketing (but made him a permanent pariah among Washington’s political establishment.) It’s no overstatement to say he won the election on the back of his opposition to Iraq and to America’s endless regime change wars.

And now the “peace candidate” wants to lead the country into a war with Iran?

Why?

Because he is indebted to the billionaire Zionists who got him elected. ‘War with Iran’ is their repayment. This is from ABC News:

President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday that United States personnel are being “moved out” of parts of the Middle East amid escalating tensions with Israel and Iran.

“Well, they are being moved out because it could be a dangerous place, and we’ll see what happens. But they are—we’ve given notice to move out. We’ll see what happens,” Trump, who was walking the red carpet at the Kennedy Center, told reporters.

The State Department ordered the departure of all nonessential staff from its embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, due to concern over increased security risks in the region, according to two State Department officials familiar with the matter. Trump confirms US personnel are being removed from parts of Middle EastABC News

So, the US is preparing for war even though nuclear talks are still underway?

Yes. In fact, Trump’s negotiating team hasn’t even made a formal proposal to Iran about anything yet. Nada. (The issue of enrichment hasn’t even been discussed at the meetings.) The US is rushing to war without any clear justification at all. They’re just following Bibi off a cliff. Here’s more from CBS News:

U.S. officials have been told Israel is fully ready to launch an operation into Iran, multiple sources told CBS News. ….. A reporter asked Mr. Trump Thursday if an Israeli strike on Iran is imminent. “Well, I don’t want to say imminent, but it looks like it’s something that could very well happen,” he said. CBS News

Trump is obfuscating his role in this kabuki. Netanyahu would never attack Iran without a green light from Washington. Otherwise, his strategic bombers would be turned around before they ever entered Iranian airspace (just as they were in Israel’s assault last year.) Israel needs America’s muscle to have any impact on Iran’s nuclear sites at all. That suggests that Netanyahu expects Iran to deliver a withering retaliatory blow that will require Uncle Sam to “ride to the rescue’ with guns blazing. This analysis is supported by comments that appeared at Axios on June 12. According to Barak Ravid:

“US envoy Steve Witkoff privately warned top Senate Republicans that Iran’s retaliation to an Israeli strike on its nuclear program could overwhelm Israel’s defenses and cause mass damage and casualties.”

Well, if Iran’s retaliation “could overwhelm Israel’s defenses”, then why would Israel launch an attack?

It’s obvious, isn’t it? So, that Uncle Sam would be forced to intervene for ‘poor Israel’. Isn’t that what this charade is all about?

It is. But will Iran take the bait?

Yes, it will, but not for the reasons that many people think. Iran is not being lured into a trap. Iran is simply going to defend itself with the weapons it has at its disposal; and those weapons will be sufficient to beat both the United States and Israel. Iran is a hypersonic missile superpower with an offensive capability that remains unacknowledged by analysts in the West whose views are shaped by their own narrow ideology rather than by hard evidence of technological advances. Air strikes by Israel mean that we will see the impact of the developments in real-time in the form of smoldering military bases, weapons depots, critical infrastructure and Israel’s prized nuclear facilities.

But how far will Iran go?

.

.

As far as Israel wants to take it. People should not expect Iran to ‘pull out all the stops’ and go ‘hog wild’. That’s not going to happen. Iran’s response will be measured and proportionate as one would expect from any mature, responsible nation. But if Israel or Trump want to take things ‘to the next level’, Iran is prepared to go the distance. This is from Press TV:

A senior Iranian security official says the Islamic Republic is at its “highest level of military readiness” and warns any act of aggression by the United States or Israel would be met with a swift and unexpected response.

“Iran is currently at its highest level of military readiness, and if the United States or the Zionist regime attempts any act of aggression, they will be caught by surprise,” the official, who did not wish to be named, told Press TV….

The Iranian security official said the trove of secret Israeli documents Iran has recently obtained “has given Iran extensive intelligence superiority regarding the target bank of the United States and the Zionist regime.

On Sunday, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib of Iran confirmed that the materials, which include documents on Israel’s clandestine nuclear program and records of its nuclear plans and facilities, had been transferred under heavy secrecy to Iran and would be published soon.

The security official also pointed to recent advances in Iran’s military capabilities, including the successful test of a ballistic missile with a two-ton warhead, as announced by Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Nasirzadeh

“Iran is now capable of catching its enemies by surprise by launching deadly preemptive strikes before any hostile movement on their part,” the official said…..

In a statement on Monday, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said the country will hit Israel’s secret nuclear facilities if the regime carries out any act of aggression against the Islamic Republic….
Exclusive: US, Israel will be caught by ‘surprise’ if Iran attacked, says senior security officialPress TV

These are the unpleasant facts that both Trump and Bibi have failed to grasp, that Iran now has the precise location (coordinates?) of Israel’s nuclear facilities which they will obliterate if Israel goes ahead with its air strikes. In other words, if Israel proceeds according to plan, then large parts of the Jewish state will go up like a Roman candle. That’s a thought that’s certainly worth mulling over for a while.
