The shocking death toll in the Israeli-imposed Gaza Genocide (553,000 Gazan deaths from violence and imposed deprivation by 19 January 2025) demands World action against Apartheid Israel including
(a) ending the Occupation,
(b) stopping weapons deliveries,
(c) banning all commercial and other links,
(d) an enforced Reparations Bill,
(e) Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all its supporters, and
(f) trial and punishment of all those responsible.
According to epidemiological experts in the leading medical journal The Lancet, in the first nine months of the Israeli massacre of Semitic Indigenous Palestinians in Gaza violent deaths totaled 64,260 and non-violent deaths from deprivation were four times that (257,040) for a total of 321,300 deaths. Presently, after 15.5 months, Gazan deaths from violence and imposed deprivation total 553,350. About 99% of Jewish Israelis supported the Gaza atrocity.
In the impoverished Global South, under-5 infant deaths are about 70% of avoidable deaths from deprivation (Gideon Polya, “Body Count. Global avoidable mortality since 1950”). Using this and other demographic data, it is estimated that the present 553,350 Gaza dead (24% of the 2.3 million pre-war Gaza population) include 393,000 children, 51,000 women and 113,000 men.

The rate of direct and indirect killing of Gazans has been 553,350/15.5 months = 35,700 deaths per month. Even if the violent killing stops, the substantial continuing exclusion of Gazans from requisite water, food, shelter, sanitation, clothing, fuel, electricity, medicine and medical care will mean that huge excess mortality from deprivation of Gazans, and especially of under-5 infants, will continue at an initial rate of 0.8 x 35,700 = 28,560 deaths from imposed deprivation each month.
As summarized in the subtitle of my book “Free Palestine” (2024), freedom and self-determination for all the Indigenous Palestinians will crucially involve “End Apartheid Israel, Human Rights Denial, Gaza Massacre, Child Killing, Occupation and Palestinian Genocide”. However Zionazi-ruled and genocidally racist Apartheid Israel rejects a 1 state solution, a 2-state solution and all of these crucial demands that are utterly unexceptional for decent people.
The World can and must stop genocidal Apartheid Israel by holding it strictly accountable for its appalling crimes as outlined below.
(a) End the illegal Occupation by Apartheid Israel. The Zionists and Zionazi-ruled Apartheid Israel want the land of Palestine (plus other Arab lands between the Nile and the Euphrates) but don’t want the Indigenous inhabitants who are to be killed, expelled or abusively confined as in the bombed and besieged Gaza Concentration Camp. The World must immediately effect the decisions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that the Occupation is illegal, genocidal and must end as soon as possible together with payment of Reparations.
(b) Prevent any weapons deliveries to serial war criminal, genocidally racist and Zionazi-run Apartheid Israel by blockade and global sanctions. Before the Gaza Massacre the US supplied 69% of weapons to Apartheid Israel with an unrepentant neo-Nazi Germany supplying 30%. The US Biden-Harris regime supplied 75,000 tons of bombs that reduced most of Gaza to uninhabitable rubble in gross violation of the so-called Leahy Law that prohibits the US providing military aid and security assistance to foreign governments or groups that commit gross human rights violations.
(c) Exclude genocidally racist Apartheid Israel from all commercial, cultural, scholarly and sporting links. Global bans on all commercial, cultural, scholarly and sporting links eventually succeeded in ending Apartheid in racist Apartheid South Africa. Apartheid Israel flouted the bans but the bans were taken so seriously by the World that well-intentioned flouting of the bans by musician Paul Simon and by some West Indies cricketers were met with severe sanctions.
(d) Insist (as demanded by the ICJ) on payment of a Reparations Bill amounting to trillions of dollars.
(i) Stolen resources as reflected in differential per capita Occupier and Occupied GDP ($4.8 trillion). The annual GDP per capita for Apartheid Israel is $53,111 as compared to $3,111 for Occupied Palestine (IMF, 2024). The average lost income per Occupied Palestinian over the last 57 years of Occupation would be about $25,000 per person per year. The average Occupied Palestinian population in the period 1967-2025 was 1,137,357 (1967) + 5,620,605 (2025)/2 = 3,378,981. Reparations for lost Occupied Palestinian income for 57 years of highly abusive Occupation = ($25,000 per person per year) x 3.379 million persons x 57 years = $4.8 trillion.
(ii) Damage to infrastructure, housing and premises ($0.1 trillion).
(iii) Cost of lives lost as measured by applying a $3.5 million VSL or Value of a Statistical Life ($1.9 trillion).
(iv) Long-term specialist medical care for injury and trauma ($0.3 trillion). The surviving 1.7 million Gazans will variously require long-term expert medical care for conditions arising from the Gaza Massacre, Gaza Genocide and Gaza Urbicide including traumatic injury.
(v) Restoration of heritage cultural sites ($0.1 trillion). It cost about $1 billion to exactly restore Notre Dame de Paris that had been damaged in 2019 by a catastrophic fire. However over 800 mosques and 3 churches have been destroyed in the Gaza Urbicide. If we assume a cost of $100 million to exactly restore each of these 814 destroyed mosques, 148 severely damaged mosques and 3 destroyed churches then the cost will be 965 buildings x $100 million per building = $96,500 million = $0.1 trillion.
(e) Apply comprehensive and rigorous Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and all its supporters. Peaceful, globally-applied Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions eventually succeeded in ending Apartheid in racist Apartheid South Africa and will similarly end Apartheid Israel.
(f) Expose, constrain, try and punish all those responsible for the Gaza Massacre, Gaza Genocide and Gaza Urbicide. Article 3 of the “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide”:
“The following acts shall be punishable:
(a) Genocide;
(b) Conspiracy to commit genocide;
(c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;
(d) Attempt to commit genocide;
(e) Complicity in genocide”.
All those responsible for the Gaza Genocide – the perpetrators , weapons suppliers, all supporters of Apartheid Israel, lying Mainstream media and the Silent – must be variously exposed, tried and punished. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for the war criminals Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant although the US and some US lackey states refuse to act on these warrants and thus become liable for prosecution for complicity in genocide.
The Occupied / Occupier Reprisals Death Ratio for the Gaza Massacre as of mid-January 2025 is 553,000/1,139 = 486, nearly 50 times greater than the Reprisals Death Ratio of 10 ordered by Nazi leader Adolph Hitler in 1944 and immediately effected in the Ardeatine Cave Massacre in Rome. Nazi is as Nazi does. Terrorist is as terrorist does. Zionazi is as Zionazi does. Anti-racist Jewish American NYU professor Bertell Ollman (2004): “The Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis.”
